RICHARD DODD [cello]
---------------- Born in Bristol, England, Richard Dodd began playing cello at the age of 10. By 15, punk rock was influencing his musical development as much as Bach, and he soon had his first taste of the rock world, performing live with the Bangles, which led to his first rock session work with the Three O'clock and the Rain Parade.
After attending Cal State Northridge, Richard spent years, too many years touring. He has since done solo cello sessions with such varied artists as Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Jim Brickman, Mandy Moore, Gillian Welch, Nikka Costa, and Hadda Brooks and has recorded or performed live with Faith Hill, Bryan Adams, Sinead O'Connor, Christina Aguilera, Alison Krauss, Whitney Houston, Leann Rimes, and Celine Dion, among others. |
